GoHealth ENROLLS 25,000 POOR AND VULNERABLE PERSONS INTO ITS FREE HEALTHCARE SCHEME

Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) has enrolled of over 25,000 poor and vulnerable persons across the state into its Equity programme (free healthcare scheme) - the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF).

This is in fulfilment of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s promise to ensure every resident of the state has access to needed health services without suffering financial hardship linked to the payment for the services.


The enrollment process which is being conducted at the ward level targeted children under five, pregnant women, elderly people above the age of 65, persons with disability, widows, women of child-bearing age and internally displaced persons.


These enrollees will enjoy access to the Basic Minimum Package of Health Services (BMPHS) at the nearest Primary Health Care (PHC) centre to them at their various wards across all 11 Local Government Areas of the State. The package also includes referral to secondary health care facilities, and even tertiary hospitals, should the need arise.

Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) has enrolled over 10,000 beneficiaries from 6 LGAs into its Equity programme for the poor and vulnerable. The beneficiaries were enrolled at the ward levels and constitutes largely of women, children under five, physically challenged and elderly people over the age of 65 years.

These enrollees will be empanelled to the nearest PHC centre to them to enjoy access to the Basic Minimum Package of Health Services at no cost to them.

The enrolment is taken place as one of the various programmes being rolled out by the agency to ensure every resident of the state has access to quality and effective health care services without suffering financial hardship.
