...as 'Keke Napep' Riders take the Gospel of GoHealth to the Streets.

The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth), has rolled out a rally in Gombe Metropolis to sensitize the general public on the need to enroll in the informal sector programme of the Agency with a premium of less than N1000 per month, which will enable them to enjoy access to healthcare services like the state civil servants, already benefiting. Making this known to participants, Umar Wanda, the Agency's Community Engagement Officer stated that sensitization was targeted but not limited Keke Riders. As they represent part of those who are economically active among other informal sectors, and promised to reach all other informal in line with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya's desire to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030 in the state.

The Hon. Commissioner of Health, Dr Habu Dahiru noted in his address that there is prevalence of out of pocket expenditure amongst especially low income groups, which is dangerous and will in turn lead them into poverty. The Honorable Commissioner explained that with the GoHealth coverage, beneficiaries do not have to bother about paying for medical services and tests, and also surgeries, except for the statutory 10% payment on drugs, all other services are free for most illnesses.

He called on the Keke Napep Riders to support the Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya led initiative and gave assurances of the Governor's commitment to giving dividends of democracy to all.

Speaking on behalf of the Keke Riders Union, the State Chairman Muhammad Abdullahi Sarki thanked GoHealth for the many good works they have been doing in the state, especially Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya whom he described as compassionate to the plight of the common man. He noted that Keke Riders are first line witnesses to the challenges common people face in accessing healthcare.

He assured the Agency that each Keke Rider is automatically an ambassador of GoHealth and promised to share the benefits of enrolling in the scheme with as many passengers who board their vehicles.
