The Institute of Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria (IHIMN) heaped praises to the government of Gombe State under the leadership of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe) for the immense support accorded to Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) in ensuring that the Governing Board members and staff of the agency adequately build their technical capacities. 

Speaking on behalf of the Institute, the National Coordinator of IHIMN, Mr Moses Ayibiowu, appreciate the government and the management of GoHealth for taking capacity building very seriously. He was speaking in the opening day of a two-day training of the 3rd and 4th tranches of the Governing Board members and key staff of GoHealth holding in Marvel Hotel and Suites, Area 1, Garki-Abuja. According to him the much sought-after attainment of Universal Health Coverage could only be made possible when staff of all insurance agencies build their capacities in order to fulfil their mandate in ensuring to the fulfilment of the objectives of establishing the agency. Mr Ayibiowu also identified team work as sine qua non in health care delivery. 

Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency is one of health insurance agencies in the country which befitted from the training modules of the Institute of Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria. Mr Ayibiowu further praised the Executive Secretary of GoHealth, Dr Abubakar Musa for taking the agency to greater and enviable heights, in his words, in just under a couple of years GoHealth has gone ahead of other state health insurance agencies in service delivery. 

The combined 3rd and 4th batch of the training focuses on Leadership and Team Management in Health Insurance and Managed Care. Leadership and Team Management are the fabrics of any organisation. 

Participating in the training are six Governing Board members, the Executive Secretary and five key staff of the agency.
