The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency has admonished it's Public Secondary Healthcare Providers in the state to build critical mass towards enhancing service delivery in the state.
Making this known in a two day meeting with the Medical Officers and GoHealth Desk Officers of Public Secondary Healthcare Providers, the Team Lead of the Agency, Dr. Abubakar Musa cautioned the facilities to be of their best practice he stated that they must show commitment, or else they will stand to reap from the system they help in creating, whether it be good or bad.
He revealed that the meeting was held to provide an update on GoHealth implementation processes (mobile app, online platform and call center); and also to discuss with the SHOPS on complaints and general challenges encountered with the scheme as it relates to service provision.
The Executive Secretary of Gombe State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Lawan Bala, stated emphatically that GoHealth has come to stay, and the essence of the meeting was not to witch hunt but to establish a fora where all parties can learn.
GoHealth's Operations Manager, Dr Gideon Maspara led a training session on GoHealth's implementation processes, and also updates on the GoHealth online platform and mobile app.
During the course of the meeting the Agency's Team Lead moderated a three-way interactive discussion session between the TPAs, the Facility and the Agency as critical issues regarding service delivery were raised and deliberated upon.
The Team Lead of the Agency also announced that GoHealth has extended the provisional accreditation of SHIPS from one year to two years, he stated that this was to enable the facilities breathe easy and have ample time to work on themselves before the reaccreditation date.
He thanked the SHCPs for the level of their service delivery, and boosting the confidence of Gombe State residents in Public Health facilities, adding that 60% of GoHealth enrollees have Public facilities as their facility of choice. He called on them to also roll their sleeves as much work needed to be done and expectations are high. Dr. Musa expressed optimism that all that has been learnt will be put in practice
