GoHealth meets with Gombe State Council of National Union of Pensioners...assuage fears of low-income pensioners The Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth) were guests of the National Union Pensioners (NUP), Gombe State Council. The Agency was invited buy the NUP to sensitize it's comrades on GoHealth's retiree program. Leading the Delegation, the Director Planning Research and Statistics, Mr. Umar Tanimu Umar, delivered the good will of the AgenEmphasising on the need for coverage for medical emergencies and healthcare needs, Dr. Gideon Maspara, the Operations Manager of the Agency stated that the Agency has proposed a 3.5% lateral payment for retirees that will cover the principal enrollee and a spouse. Some retirees however were quick to express their fears stating that they were earning less than N10,000 monthly, as pension. Assuaging their fears, Dr. Maspara reiterated that GoHealth is a social health insurance agency, thus cross subsidisation happens across low income and high income earners. He explained that 3.5% of N10,000 is just N350 to be paid monthly which will cover both the principal enrollee and his/her spouse and give them access to healthcare pool worth millions of naira.
