Sunday John is a local of Popandi Village in Gwandum Ward, Shongom LGA. He Pastors a village church in Kwarra, Billiri LGA. He has been having a recurrent issue of the swelling of his scrotum; which he sustained during a football competition years ago. The injury became critical when he was involved in a car crash. He has been facing serious difficulties due to the pains in his scrotum, and could not afford to seek proper medical attention.

Being one amongst the over 25,000 poor and vulnerable people identified under the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (equity programme), he approached the Primary Healthcare Centre at Gwandum, Shongom LGA.

He was referred from Gwandum PHCC to General Hospital Kaltungo. Doctors conducted series of tests and discovered a left inguinal hernia. A successful correctional surgery was carried out by the Doctors at General Hospital, Kaltungo.

Pastor Sunday John thanked the government for the program and prayed that God will bless the People's Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his care and concern for the poor, without discrimination; adding that the program is the first of it's kind as it has never been heard in any other administration. He decried allegations that the BHCPF programme was Political, noting that he himself has never been involved in any form of political activity. He also called on the government to continue to look into the plight of the poor and vulnerable like him who are ill and lack the means to treat themselves.
