GOHEALTH STAFF AT A ONE DAY CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON BHCPF, ORGANISED BY THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME NHIS, IN GOMBE.

The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has organised a one-day capacity building workshop for the State Contributory Healthcare Managament Agency staff on the implementation of the NHIS gateway operations for the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF).

In attendance were key staff of GoHealth and the NHIS state office in Gombe. It was revealed at the workshop that GoHealth has reached 100% her BHCPF enrollment target and the enrollees have since began accessing quality healthcare service. It was also revealed that GoHealth is preparing to conduct a new mapping exercise to identify and map poor and vulnerable persons for the next phase of enrolment especially as GoHealth is working to secure the release of the equity contribution by the state government for the indigent population.

The Team Lead of GoHealth in his closing remarks appreciated the efforts of the NHIS and thier facilitators while reiterating the government's commitment to ensuring Universal Health Coverage in Gombe State.

The NHIS state coordinator, Adamu G. Ghide, expressed his satisfaction with the speedy kick-off of the GoHealth Scheme in the state describing it as 'spectacular' as Gombe State has currently surpassed other states in the implementation of the scheme.

The capacity building workshop dwelled on the implementation of NHIS gateway, fund management, NHIS gateway operations, provider payments mechanisms, M&E, etc.
